Food Review: 5 Spice @ Bandra

This was my second visit to this restaurant and my first one with the family. Luckily for us, we had booked a table before reaching the venue. Despite that, we had to wait for about 15 minutes. Such was the rush and that too on a Wednesday night. Amazing!

Plus point 1: The food and service was definitely worth the wait. It was my son's birthday and we were a group of six. There were two other birthday groups on the same floor. It was one gala celebration as a cake was cut at each table and all of us joined in the birthday song.

Plus point 2: We ordered a chicken dish and veg fried wontons for starters along with some non-veg soups, a veg 5 spice soup and a Peking soup - all yummy.

Plus point 3: Then we ordered one rice, one noodles and three gravies. The portions were large and more than enough for all of us. And everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned.

Plus point 4: The best was the blueberry cheesecake that we had. It was better than the Strawberry one.

Plus point 5: The waiters were always at attention without breathing down our necks.

We paid the bill of 3700 for a few beers, tequila shots and the food quite happily and went home with a warm feeling.

  1. Hey Sundari,
Happy Birthday to your son firstly & glad you liked 5spice@Bandra too. We(our team@work) first went there when we were treated by our ex-boss on his birthday 2years ago. We were 8-10of us. Like every1 agrees 5spice portions are huge & the food is perfect. nor is it the Indian Chinese version nor the typical Chinese 1 where you feel like adding all the extra seasoning of all sauces available. The blueberry cake is also a must have here. The bill is always paid with pleasure coz the host & guest all are smiling after the perfect meal. :) Have gone there totally 3times & loved it every time. Also like the statues & pieces they have used to add to the decor.
Nice post. We should be treated to all the places you review on the blog.wat say ? ;)

  2. very well written and mouth watering,
best part is that its in points. any review is easier to understand if in points as it makes the decision making of the reader easy - whether or not to visit the place

    cheers and mwah

  4. Hi 5 Spice is a big favourite of mine and anyone we take there. We live close by and the crowds have been quite consistent over the years.

My favourite is their Chinese 'pulao', officially known as burnt chilly rice :)

  5. You have try the Summer Bliss here. It is an excellent dessert (though the blueberry cheese is awesome too and being a cheese cake is one of my favourites)..
Then the Pot Rice is good too. We made the mistake of ordering a side dish and later realised that it wasn't required!!
